Grenoble INP - Génie industriel is the school of Industrial Engineering and Management of Grenoble Institute of Technology, University of Grenoble-Alps. The International Chair of Industrial Engineering and Management is opening two positions of Adjunct Professor, each for the coming 3 years (2017-2019), with a one month a year obligation of residence in Grenoble. The selected professors will then be offered the position for 3 one-month periods to be scheduled over the coming three successive years.
To apply, the candidate must have a PhD in the field to be taught. During each of the one-month period, the Adjunct Professor will have to teach one course to our 1st year master students (one subject). Students are first year graduated students according to Bologna EU model. The Adjunct Professor is strongly encouraged to carry out research in one of our associated research centers (see http://genie-industriel.grenoble-inp.fr/research/).
The course taught is of a 2 ECTS credits format, for a Student Workload of 50 h. Subjects: Elective subjects in Master level of Industrial Engineering and Management. Topics related to industry of the future will be well come. Several disciplines and fields are receivable: Operation Research, Optimization, Economics, Sociology, Management, Manufacturing, Engineering Design Mechanical, Engineering, Inventory Management, Organizational Behavior, robotics, etc. Prerequisites should be defined by the adjunct professor.
The adjunct-professor will have a 24h load of direct students-contact, a maximum of 30 students in a group, with possible small groups in lab and exercise (15 students) when required. Teaching language is English Session are organized in one hour and a half or three hours’ slots. Students must be evaluated and a final grading is required. At least 30% of the grade should be an individual evaluation, i.e. no more than 70% may come from group evaluation. Period: From Week 18 (Tues 2nd May 2017) to Week 23 (Frid 11th June 2017 ) (similar period for 2018 & 2019)
Adjunct Professorship Fee includes
Travel in economy-class from your university or residence to Grenoble. (max 1.500€)
A one-month accommodation in an apartment for two adults or a family.
A grant (Chair of Industrial Engineering, Fondation pour l’Université de Lyon):
1200€ per month for a junior professor (post-doc, etc.)
2000€ per month for a senior professor
