Goal(s)

The main objective of the class is to make student understand the key actors ans processes needed in order to manage Resources within a company as well as the interdependence of these processes.
A specific focus will be made on the production from the Strategic level to the execution and control :
=> Strategy
=> Business Plan
=> Sales and Operations Plan
=> Master Scheduling
=> Detailed scheduling and Planning
=> Execution and Control
More specifically:
* Understand the planning process
* Understand the different type of flows within a company
* Understand MRP planification process
* Know how to calculate a MRP grid
* Calculate and analyse Kanban parameters

In the class , different processes and tools to manage production resources will be reviewed
More specifically traditional tools used in Production management will be explained and used (TP and TD)
Key elements will be:

  • Process Structure and interdependence
  • Planning process levels
  • Execution and control process
  • Production Resources management: MRP
  • JIT principles with focus on cohabitation between MRP and Kanban
  • Scheduling
  • MRP Grid
