The objective of this course is to introduce some upto date concepts in supply chain management (SCM) through three case studies. At the end of the class the student will be able to understand and manipulate concepts related to supply and operations planning, procurement planning and control, coordination between SC stakeholders and warehouse management. The student will also strengthen the previously acquired knowledge in the domain of SCM through application of these concepts on the case studies.
This course is organized around three case studies related to supply chain management.
The following issues are covered by the case studies :
Line feeding, sychronous flows, procurement planning and control, flow management between production and suppliers.
Supply and operations planning, supply chain performance indicators
Warehouse management, human resources planning, timetabling and work assignment
An introductory production planning and inventory control course and an introductory operations research course are required.
The lectures as well as some reading assignements and class presentations are in English. A good level in listening, reading and conversation in english is recommended.
