Goal(s)
Product design involves the use and dimensioning of technical components already produced by industrial partners. This is particularly true when using so-called standard components.
The objectives of this course are to
- To provide the basis for the design of standard components in mechanical product design,
- To provide the knowledge necessary to understand the various technological principles,
- to manipulate and work on the fundamental notions of power, energy, efficiency... inherent to product engineering.
Content(s)
The learning process takes place in groups of 6 to 8 students around problems to be solved (problem-based learning - PBL)
3 themes are addressed:
1 - Belts and Chains,
2 - Cylindrical gears: geometry, kinematics, dynamic calculation,
3 - Rotational guides: bearings and plain bearings
A design office project integrating all the themes is carried out during the semester. It leads to the creation of a functional prototype of a technical solution.
PrerequisitesIndustrial drawing, Basics in design, Kinematics, Solid mechanics, Strength of materials
Session 1:
- APP = evaluation of the 3 APPs (20%)
- Project = design office file and presentation (40%)
- TH1 = individual written evaluation exam (40%)
- N1 = final mark session 1
Session 2:
- Project and APA marks are not made up
- TH2 = individual written or oral evaluation depending on the number of students
- N2 = final mark session 2
N1 = 0,25 * APP + 0,5 * Projet + 0,25 * TH1
N2 = 0,25 * APP + 0,5 * Projet + 0,25 * TH2
