ECTS 9.0
Goal(s)
Students must apply their knowledge and know-how in industrial engineering to a given study case. They must integrate into a professional working environment and organise themselves within their working group.
Students will define and set up a work plan which is designed to identify problems, to prepare tools and to find solutions whilst keeping to deadlines. It is also designed to analyse the conditions in which these points are carried out.
Students must write a clear and precise report on their work.
Students must do an oral presentation of their work and support their conclusions in front of a panel of industrialists and teachers.
Content(s)
Students (in groups of 4) are welcomed by a company located in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region for 14 days (during February, March and April).
They are supervised by a tutor from the company and two teachers who are specialised in complementary subjects. Students are not paid but all hospitality expenses are covered by the company and in some cases travel and accommodation expenses too.
The results of the field study are the property of the company.
The industrial field study is subject to an internship agreement.
The industrial field study includes a written report and an oral presentation in front of a panel.
The assessment of students follows five different axes:
A) Life in a compnay
B) Work carried out
C) The written report: C1 (mark given by the 'SPI' tutor) /C2 (mark given by the 'SHS' tutor)
D) Oral presentation (mark given by the panel)
Marks in points A and D can differentiate students who are working on the same project.
Each student gets a mark out of 20 which is equal to (A+B+C1+C2+D)/5.
Communication:
Assessment (E1) : continuous assessment
No 2nd exam period
N1 = Final mark from 1st exam period
FINAL MARK FOR UE : 90% Industrial Field Study + 10% communication
N1 = 0.9*EDT + 0.1*CC
